wikipedia
The Museum of the Borderlands in Lubaczów, located in an 18th-century historic granary, is an important organizational unit of the Lubaczów County, established on the initiative of educator Włodzimierz Czernecki. The museum's history dates back to the years before World War II, when Czernecki began collecting exhibits, some of which were lost during the war. In 1958, the Social Regional Museum was established, which, after moving to a tenement house at Mickiewicza Street, was handed over to the Polish Tourist and Sightseeing Society in 1965. The museum, operating until 1981 as the PTTK Regional Museum, was nationalized, and in 1986 it was moved to its current headquarters. The official opening took place in September 1987. Since 1999, the museum has been under the management of the Lubaczów County local government, and in 2004 its name was changed to the Museum of the Borderlands in Lubaczów. In 2010, the institution was enriched with the complex of buildings of the St. Paraskeva Church in Radruż. The museum features permanent exhibitions that include historical collections related to local history, ethnographic displays presenting the folk culture of the region, and art, including Sarmatian portrait painting and works of Polish contemporary art. The museum is open year-round, offering paid admission, except on Mondays. It is worth noting that the institution houses rich collections, including works by artists such as Zdzisław Beksiński, making it a significant point on Poland's cultural map.
