Dukla is an urban-rural municipality located in the Podkarpackie Voivodeship, within the Krosno County, with its seat in the town of Dukla. In 2020, the municipality had a population of 14,388. The area of Dukla covers 332.5 km², of which 41% is agricultural land and 52% is forested. The municipality of Dukla boasts a rich history dating back to medieval times when it was an important trade and cultural center. It is home to numerous historical monuments, including wooden Orthodox churches that reflect the cultural heritage of the region, as well as other architectural landmarks tied to the town's historical development. Between 1975 and 1998, the municipality was part of the Krosno Voivodeship, but in 2010, the municipality of Jaśliska was separated from Dukla, which impacted its administrative structure. The municipality has a diverse ethnic composition, with 1.4% of its residents belonging to other nationalities, adding to its multicultural character. Dukla has preserved numerous traditions that highlight local customs and culture, making it a place of particular significance in the region.
