Głuchołazy is an urban-rural municipality in Poland, located in the Opole Voivodeship, within the Nysa County, with the town of Głuchołazy serving as its administrative seat. In 2004, the municipality had a population of 25,994, but by the end of 2019, this number had decreased to 23,643. The municipality covers an area of 167.98 km², of which 69% is agricultural land and 18% is forested. Głuchołazy constitutes 13.73% of the area of Nysa County. Its territory includes numerous localities, such as Biskupów, Burgrabice, Charbielin, Jarnołtówek, and Wilamowice Nyskie. The municipality of Głuchołazy lies in a border zone, which allows the Border Guard to monitor the area, with the responsible unit located in Opole. It is worth mentioning that Głuchołazy is a region rich in cultural heritage, with numerous architectural monuments and beautiful landscapes, including the Golden Mountains and the Otmuchów Hills.
