Lubawa Deanery

The Lubawa Deanery is one of the 24 deaneries in the Diocese of Toruń, and its history dates back to the times when it belonged to the Chełmno Diocese, based in Pelplin. On March 25, 1992, the deanery was incorporated into the newly established Diocese of Toruń. As a result of the reorganization of diocesan structures carried out at the turn of 2001 and 2002, the deanery took on its current form. Architecturally, the Lubawa Deanery boasts many historic churches, which are a significant element of local identity and cultural heritage. Among them are buildings in both Gothic and Baroque styles, which impress with their details and unique architectural features. The region's culture is strongly tied to religious tradition, which is reflected in the numerous cultural events organized by the parishes.
