W skrócie

wikipedia
Jeżyce was a former administrative district of Poznań, functioning from 1954 to 1990, encompassing the northwestern part of the city. After the abolition of districts in 1990, the areas of Jeżyce were assigned to five delegations of the Poznań City Hall, and the boundaries of the former districts began to be used for organizing the work of municipal offices. In 2011, Jeżyce had a population of 81,153. At the end of its existence, the area of Jeżyce was 55.12 km², which constituted 21.09% of the city's area. The main part of the district is the Jeżycki Market. The district's boundaries are marked by streets such as Obornicka, Lechicka, Piątkowska, and others. Jeżyce once included smaller settlements like Sołacz, Bonin, and Winiary. Currently, Jeżyce primarily serves residential and recreational functions, characterized by diverse architecture ranging from multi-family housing estates to 19th-century tenement houses. The district is dominated by green areas, including municipal forests, and the Poznań-Ławica Airport. Main streets, such as Dąbrowskiego, serve as important transportation arteries. Jeżyce also features water reservoirs like Lake Kierskie and Rusałka Lake. The region has a rich history, as Jeżyce was established in 1954 as one of Poznań's five large districts, and a new administrative division was implemented in 1984. In 1987, areas of the villages of Wielkie and Kiekrz were incorporated into Jeżyce, influencing their development. With their interesting architectural landscape, rich history, and cultural diversity, Jeżyce remains one of the most important areas of Poznań, combining residential and recreational functions.
