Konstancin-Jeziorna is an urban-rural municipality, established in 1973 through the merger of the Jeziorna municipality and the Skolimów-Konstancin municipality. It is located in the Masovian Voivodeship, within the Piaseczno County. The municipality covers an area of 78.28 km², of which 63% is agricultural land and 13% is forested. Between 1975 and 1998, the municipality was part of the Warsaw Voivodeship, and its seat is Konstancin-Jeziorna. According to data from 2013, the municipality was inhabited by 24,805 people. From 2010 to 2024, the local government was headed by Mayor Kazimierz Jańczuk, and since 2024, this position has been held by Michał Wiśniewski. The area of the municipality is characterized by a rich sociodemographic structure and diverse village administrations, such as Bielawa, Borowina, Cieciszew, and Obory, which has the status of a settlement. Situated in a picturesque area, the municipality borders Góra Kalwaria, Józefów, Karczew, Otwock, Piaseczno, and the capital city of Warsaw. Konstancin-Jeziorna is also known for its rich architectural heritage, including villas from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries that attract tourists, as well as local cultural and social traditions that enrich the region. An interesting fact is that the municipality is a popular leisure destination, combining elements of nature and urban infrastructure, making it attractive not only to residents but also to visitors.
