Korfantów is an urban-rural municipality located in the Opole Voivodeship, within the Nysa County, with the town of Korfantów serving as its administrative seat. The municipality boasts a rich history dating back well before 1945, when it was part of the Niemodlin County, and later, between 1975 and 1998, it was situated within the Opole Voivodeship. According to data from June 30, 2004, the municipality has a population of 9,905 residents. Its total area is 179.78 km², of which 69% is agricultural land and 23% is forested, making it a nature-rich area. In 1995, a survey was conducted among residents regarding administrative affiliation, in which the majority voted in favor of belonging to Nysa County, with historical ties linking the northern part of the municipality to Prudnik. Korfantów is also a border area where the Border Guard conducts security operations, with their coverage extending to a station in Opole. The municipality borders towns such as Biała, Łambinowice, Nysa, Prószków, Prudnik, and Tułowice, which facilitates access to local attractions and cultural exchanges. Korfantów is distinguished by its interesting demographic and architectural structure, and its residents actively preserve local traditions and the history of the region.
