wikipedia
The Łagowsko-Sulęciński Landscape Park, established in 1985 in the Lubusz Voivodeship, encompasses the municipalities of Sulęcin and Łagów, along with numerous smaller towns. It covers an area of 5,438.5 hectares, with an additional buffer zone extending over 6,554.8 hectares. The park is renowned for its stunning terrain, including the 15-kilometer-long Łagów glacial trough, which is home to pristine lakes such as Lake Trześniowskie—one of the ten deepest lakes in Poland. Protected reserves like the Buczyna Łagowska and Nad Jeziorem Trześniowskim feature valuable beech forest fragments and rich landscapes. The park's flora includes over 550 plant species, many of which are rare and protected, such as orchids and round-leaved sundew. The fauna is equally diverse, with species like the white-tailed eagle, black stork, and common goldeneye. Łagów, often referred to as the "Pearl of the Lubusz Land," is not only a picturesque town with 13th-century monuments but also home to a historical settlement dating back to the 12th–14th centuries and a castle of the Knights Hospitaller, which is listed as a historic landmark. The park is a significant tourist destination, offering well-marked trails that allow visitors to explore its natural and cultural attractions.
