Legionowo Deanery

The Legionowo Deanery is an administrative unit within the Warsaw-Praga Diocese, forming part of the Warsaw Metropolitan Archdiocese. It was established in 1987 from parishes that previously belonged to the Nowy Dwór Deanery. The current dean is Rev. Canon Grzegorz Kucharski, who has held this position since 2020, succeeding Rev. Lucjan Szczęśniak, who oversaw the deanery for 25 years. The deanery comprises a variety of parishes, including the civil-military Parish of St. Joseph the Spouse of the Blessed Virgin Mary, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Armed Forces Support Inspectorate. The Legionowo Deanery is a place where religious traditions and the histories of local communities intertwine, and its parishes are often actively involved in the cultural life of the region. Architecturally, it features historic religious buildings that enrich the local landscape, as well as modern churches designed to meet the needs of contemporary worshippers. Interestingly, the deanery, while introducing new initiatives, also engages in activities that support local communities, fostering integration among residents and strengthening social bonds.
