The Church of St. Michael the Archangel in Zagórz is an Orthodox parish temple with a rich history, located in the Stary Zagórz district at Józef Piłsudski Street. It was built in 1836 as a Greek Catholic church and after World War II came under the management of the State Treasury, becoming an Orthodox church. The caretaker of the building was Franciszek Truskolaski, and from 1928 to 1939, Adam Gubrynowicz. In the 20th century, the church was renovated several times and was granted monument status in 1959. The temple is oriented and hall-type, with a characteristic tower above the narthex, whose lower part is masonry and plastered white, while the upper, narrower section is wooden with a cylindrical spire topped by a dome. The nave, made of unplastered masonry, features semicircular windows and ends with an apse. The roof over the nave is covered with sheet metal, and a sacristy with a three-sloped roof was added on the northern side. Inside, there is a beautiful iconostasis that enhances the spiritual and aesthetic dimension of the church. In 2016, the temple was established as a parish church, highlighting its importance to the local community. The church is not only a place of worship but also a valuable cultural and historical site, testifying to the centuries-old tradition of Orthodoxy in the region.
