The "Szczerbanówka" observation tower, built in 2017 on the Przysłup Pass in the Western Bieszczady Mountains, is an attractive tourist facility located along voivodeship road no. 897, 6 km from Cisna. Its name refers to the non-existent village of Szczerbanówka, which before World War II was home to 150 residents forming a multicultural community. After the war, the village was abandoned and its buildings fell into ruin, including a wooden Greek Catholic church from 1857, which was dismantled in 1950. In the 1980s, construction of the student hostel "Szczerbanówka" began on the site of the former village. The tower is a wooden structure standing 9 meters tall and features three viewing platforms. The highest platform includes panoramic descriptions and a telescope, allowing visitors to admire views of the Polish Bieszczady Mountains, including Smerek, Połonina Wetlińska, Jasło, Małe Jasło, and Hyrlata. The facility is easily accessible with a nearby parking area. In the vicinity, about 1 km from the tower, runs a green hiking trail leading to Hyrlata and Wołosań, making it an ideal starting point for tourists eager to explore the Bieszczady trails. The village of "Szczerbanówka" is a symbol of the region's forgotten history and a place that combines natural beauty with a rich cultural heritage.
