wikipedia
The Lesko Deanery, part of the Archdiocese of Przemyśl, has a rich history dating back to 1785, when it was established from territories of the Sanok Deanery by a decision of Bishop Antoni Betański. The deanery includes parishes such as Lesko, Hoczew, Jasień, Mrzygłód, Polana, Tyrawa Wołoska, Uherce, and Wołkowyja. Architecturally, the deanery is enriched by a number of historic churches representing various architectural styles, including Neo-Gothic and Classicism. The most important parishes are Lesko with the Church of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Hoczew with the Church of St. Anne, and Baligród with the Church of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Each of these locations has its own unique architectural and artistic features, making them important points in the regional cultural landscape. Culturally, the deanery is a place where numerous religious events and festivals take place, as well as activities supporting local traditions. In Lesko, besides the parish, there is also the Congregation of the Servant Sisters of Starowieś, founded in 1900, which brings elements of religious and charitable life to the community. Interestingly, in the local parishes, one can find filial churches, showcasing the diversity of the parish structure; for example, in Manasterz, Cisna, and Glinne, there are communities that provide residents with access to the sacraments and organize communal life. The spiritual and cultural dimension of the Lesko Deanery makes it not only a place of religious practices but also a space for preserving traditions and local identity.
