wikipedia
The Przedborski Landscape Park, established in May 1988, is a vast area covering 165.53 km², located on the border of the Łódź and Świętokrzyskie voivodeships. It encompasses four counties: radomszczański, włoszczowski, konecki, and kielecki. The park is characterized by a remarkable landscape dominated by the Przedborsko-Małogoskie Range, an extension of the Świętokrzyskie Mountains. High hills, valleys, and rich geological and hydrological diversity make this area attractive to both tourists and scientists. The soils in the park are relatively poor, mainly class IVa and IVb, which limits agricultural potential, while its flora includes over 900 plant species, many of which are rare and protected. The park's fauna includes 168 bird species and numerous mammals such as moose, deer, wild boar, and badger. The waters of the park are diverse, with the Pilica River being the largest watercourse and the Czarna Włoszczowska as its tributary. The area is also known for its peatlands, which are valuable ecosystems but are threatened by drainage. The park features five nature reserves and many ecological use areas, which are important elements of environmental protection. An interesting fact is the discovery of an aurochs skull near the Pilica River in 1992. The Przedborski Landscape Park is not only a place of great natural value but also boasts a rich cultural and historical heritage that can be explored during visits to this picturesque region.
