The Waśniów Commune, with its seat in the locality of the same name, is a rural commune located in the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship, within the Ostrowiec County. Its history dates back to the past when, until 1870, it functioned as the Nosów Commune. Between 1975 and 1998, the commune was part of the Kielce Voivodeship. As of January 1, 2007, the commune was inhabited by 7,242 people. In terms of land structure, Waśniów Commune covers an area of 111.29 km², of which 81% is agricultural land and 15% is forest land. The commune plays a significant role in the region, constituting 18.06% of the area of Ostrowiec County. The commune comprises many villages, such as Boksyce, Boleszyn, Czajęcice, and Nosów.
