Baligród is a rural municipality located in the Podkarpackie Voivodeship, in Lesko County, covering an area of 158.12 km². Between 1975 and 1998, it was part of the Krosno Voivodeship, and its administrative seat is the village of Baligród. In 2004, the municipality was home to 3,182 inhabitants, and according to data from December 31, 2017, it remains a demographically diverse locality. Its land structure is dominated by forest areas (67%), reflecting the region's rich natural resources and environmental value. Baligród is a place where many traditional elements of Subcarpathian architecture have been preserved, including wooden houses and historic churches that hold a wealth of local history. Culturally, Baligród is surrounded by beautiful landscapes that encourage active recreation and tourism. In 2013, the private Dolina Ruchlinu-Żernica airstrip was established here, which may attract aviation enthusiasts and adventure seekers.
