The Grodzisk Deanery is one of the 25 deaneries of the Archdiocese of Warsaw, located within the metropolitan area of Warsaw. It is headed by Father Janusz Starosta, the parish priest of the Church of the Transfiguration in Grodzisk Mazowiecki. The deanery includes the towns of Grodzisk Mazowiecki, Izdebno Kościelne, Kuklówka Zarzeczna, Adamowizna, and Książenice, and comprises eight parishes. Among them are the parishes of St. Anne, Our Lady of Perpetual Help, and Divine Mercy, all located in Grodzisk Mazowiecki, as well as the parish of St. Michael the Archangel in Izdebno, Our Lady of Częstochowa in Kuklówka, St. John Vianney in Książenice, and St. Teresa of Calcutta in Adamowizna.
Grodzisk Mazowiecki, as the central point of the deanery, stands out for its rich architecture, which blends local traditions with modern solutions. The historic churches are particularly noteworthy, serving not only the faithful but also forming an integral part of the local cultural heritage. Many of these structures pay homage to local craftsmanship and sacred art.
From a historical perspective, the deanery has its roots in the Middle Ages, making it a place with a long religious and cultural tradition. Interestingly, Grodzisk Mazowiecki was once an important commercial center, which significantly influenced its social and cultural development.
Contemporary parish life in the deanery focuses not only on Mass but also on numerous cultural and social events that bring the local community together. Thanks to the diversity of its parishes, the Grodzisk Deanery offers a wide range of initiatives, from prayer meetings to cultural events, enriching the lives of its residents. This multifaceted development makes it an attractive destination both for the faithful and for tourists seeking to explore local culture and history.
