Holy Cross Deanery

The Holy Cross Deanery, part of the Sandomierz Diocese, consists of nine parishes, including the Parish of St. Nicholas in Baćkowice and the Parish of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Bardo. Among them, historic churches stand out, such as the Church of St. Lawrence in Nowa Słupia, which not only represent elements of sacral architecture but also bear witness to the region's history. Churches in this area often combine Gothic and Baroque elements, serving as fascinating examples of local building traditions. Within the deanery, there is also the rectoral Church of the Relics of the Holy Cross on Święty Krzyż, an important pilgrimage site and a place of worship associated with the legend of the Cross. It is worth noting that the deanery boasts rich cultural traditions, with numerous religious events and local festivals that attract both residents and tourists. Its proximity to the deaneries of Bodzentyn, Daleszyce, Opatów, Starachowice–Południe, Staszów, and Szewna makes the region a significant religious center intertwined with local cultural attractions. This blend of architecture, culture, and history makes the Holy Cross Deanery a unique destination on the map of Poland.
