Legnica East Deanery

The Legnica Wschód Deanery, one of the 28 Roman Catholic deaneries in the Diocese of Legnica, consists of 10 parishes, including the Cathedral Parish of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul, which plays a special role in the religious life of the region. The parishes in the deanery are diverse in terms of architecture and history. Many of the churches, such as the Parish of St. Michael the Archangel in Koskowice and the Parish of St. Hyacinth Odrowąż, have preserved elements of Gothic and Baroque styles, reflecting the rich tradition and history of sacral architecture in the region. The churches in Legnica have also gained cultural significance, serving not only religious functions but also social ones, acting as meeting places for the local community. It is worth noting the Parish of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, which is known for its solemn liturgy and artistic interior decorations, highlighting its unique character. The region also hosts various cultural events, often related to local traditions and church holidays, emphasizing the identity of the inhabitants. Interestingly, one of the parishes, St. Adalbert's, is dedicated to preserving Eastern Christian traditions, showcasing the diversity of influences in this region.
