The Lubrza Municipality, located in the Świebodzin County of the Lubusz Voivodeship, has its origins dating back to 1945, and between 1975 and 1998 it belonged to the Zielona Góra Voivodeship. The seat of the municipality is the town of Lubrza, and according to data from January 1, 2021, the municipality was inhabited by 3,602 people. In terms of nature conservation, the municipality is home to two significant reserves: Nietoperek, which protects bats, and Pniewski Ług, which harbors unique communities of marsh and peatland vegetation. The municipality covers an area of 122.28 km², of which 38% is agricultural land and 47% is forest land, highlighting its diverse geographical structure. In the most recent presidential elections, the residents of Lubrza cast the majority of their votes for Bronisław Komorowski, while in parliamentary elections since 2015, the popularity of the Law and Justice party has been growing. It is also worth mentioning the Boryszyn Loop, a system of fortifications built by the Germans between 1935 and 1939, which is the largest of its kind in Europe and features an underground tourist route with bunkers and tunnels totaling approximately 30 km in length. The municipality consists of several village administrations, such as Boryszyn and Mostki, and also includes many smaller localities, reflecting its diverse community. Together with neighboring municipalities like Łagów and Międzyrzecz, Lubrza forms a rich cultural mosaic while emphasizing its historical heritage.
