Mszana Dolna

The Municipality of Mszana Dolna, located in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship, Limanowa County, was established in 1992 as a result of its separation from the town of Mszana Dolna. It covers an area of 169.83 km², of which 50% is agricultural land and 45% is forested. According to 2004 data, the municipality is home to 16,358 people. Mszana Dolna is known as the birthplace of Justyna Kowalczyk, a cross-country skier, which is a significant part of its sports identity. The municipality is home to several parishes, including the Parish of St. Mary Magdalene and the Parish of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, which are important centers of religious life for the local community.
