wikipedia
The Przeworsk II Deanery, located in the Archdiocese of Przemyśl within the Łańcut Archpresbyterate, was established in 1987 by Bishop Ignacy Tokarczuk as a result of the division of the former Przeworsk Deanery. Its first dean was Fr. Jan Kanty Bartnik, OFM, who held the position for as long as 13 years. He was succeeded by Fr. Canon Jan Strojek, Fr. Prelate Zenon Ruchlewicz, and the current dean, Fr. Leszek Gruszecki. The deanery encompasses numerous parishes, including Cieszacin Wielki, Przeworsk, Mirocin, Urzejowice, and Siennów, each with its own unique traditions and churches. The oldest parish in the area is Urzejowice, dating back to 1411, while the youngest, Rozbórz, was established in 2008. Architecturally, the deanery is distinguished by three parish churches that are listed in the register of historical monuments: the Church of St. Barbara in Przeworsk, Siennów, and Zarzecze. The Church of St. Barbara serves as the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Consolation, making it the main pilgrimage site in the region. The deanery is also home to religious orders, such as the Bernardines in Przeworsk and Żurawiczki, and the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth in Zarzecze, adding to its cultural and religious richness. An interesting fact is that the deanery includes numerous filial churches, which extend parish functions and integrate local communities. The history of the deanery and its parishes reflects the cultural and religious heritage of the region, as well as its architectural diversity, which attracts both the faithful and tourists.
