Ruda Maleniecka is a rural commune in the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship, within Końskie County, with its administrative seat located in the village of the same name. The history of the commune dates back to 1867, when it was established as a result of an administrative reform in the Kingdom of Poland. During the interwar period, it was part of Końskie County in the Kielce Voivodeship, and in 1939 it was transferred to the Łódź Voivodeship. After World War II, the commune was briefly restored to the Kielce Voivodeship, but in 1954 it was abolished as part of a reform introducing gromadas (smaller administrative units). The modern commune was reactivated on January 1, 1986. The commune covers an area of 110.03 km², of which 38% is agricultural land and 52% is forested. Ruda Maleniecka is inhabited by approximately 3,390 people (as of 2004) and consists of fifteen villages, including Dęba, Maleniec, Strzęboszów, and Lipa. The region features numerous architectural elements related to local history, including traditional rural buildings. Culturally, the commune is connected with local traditions and customs that are cherished by its residents, making it a place rich in local cultural heritage. It borders the communes of Fałków, Końskie, Radoszyce, Słupia Konecka, and Żarnów. Despite its small size, the commune is an interesting place with a rich history and a significant role in the local community.
