wikipedia
The Spała Landscape Park, located in the Łódź Voivodeship, was established in 1995 in the Spała and Inowłódz region, forming part of the Nadpiliczne Landscape Parks complex. Covering an area of 131.10 km², the park spans the municipalities of Inowłódz, Poświętne, Rzeczyca, Tomaszów Mazowiecki, and others. A valuable feature of the park is its nature reserves, including Konewka, Spała, and Żądłowice, which protect the region's diverse fauna and flora. Ecologically, the park stands out for its rich mosaic of ecosystems, dominated by pine forests but also featuring deciduous wooded areas. The Pilica River valley, meandering with numerous islands and oxbow lakes, creates a picturesque landscape that supports the life of many plant and animal species, including birds, fish, amphibians, and mammals such as wild boars and roe deer. The park is also culturally significant, with a history dating back to the Middle Ages. It is home to numerous architectural monuments, including the Romanesque church in Inowłódz and the Baroque-style church and monastery complex of the Filipini Order in Studzianna. Traditional wooden buildings have also been preserved in the region. Additionally, the park is a place where local folklore is nurtured, and numerous historical sites, such as monuments and memorials dedicated to important figures, attest to the area's rich past, including its history during World War II. The Spała Landscape Park is an important site for nature conservation and the preservation of local culture and history, attracting both tourists and nature enthusiasts.
