wikipedia
Żuromin County, located in the Masovian Voivodeship, was reestablished in 1999 as part of the administrative reform. Its capital is the town of Żuromin, and according to data from the end of 2020, the county had a population of 38,337. It consists of three urban-rural municipalities: Bieżuń, Lubowidz, and Żuromin, as well as three rural municipalities: Kuczbork-Osada, Lutocin, and Siemiątkowo. Historically, Żuromin County was first established on January 1, 1956, with its initial area comprising 21 village clusters separated from neighboring counties. Over the years, it underwent various administrative changes, including dissolutions and reorganizations, which affected the county's area and structure. It is worth noting that some territories were excluded from the county and are now part of Mława and Działdowo counties. From an architectural perspective, Żuromin County is characterized by historic buildings, including churches and public utility structures, reflecting local traditions and history. The county's culture is rich, with numerous local events, festivals, and traditions cherished by its residents. An interesting fact is that Bieżuń, which gained town rights in 1993, has become a significant local center compared to other towns in the region. Żuromin County is not only about history and tradition but also features diverse landscapes that attract tourists and residents alike. Its proximity to other Masovian and Kuyavian-Pomeranian counties makes it an area with significant development potential.
