wikipedia
The Górznieńsko-Lidzbarski Landscape Park, established in 1990, covers an area of 27,764.3 hectares at the border of three voivodeships: Warmian-Masurian, Kuyavian-Pomeranian, and Masovian. The park is part of the "Green Lungs of Poland" area and is characterized by a diverse young glacial landscape. These lands, shaped by the last Scandinavian glaciation, abound in steep gullies and ribbon lakes, such as the Bryńskie Lakes and Lake Górzeńskie. The park's hydrography is shaped by the clean Brynica River, which supports the presence of numerous plant and animal species. Approximately 130 plant communities have been recorded in the park, including around 200 rare species and about 250 animal species, among which are over 160 bird species, such as the round-leaved sundew, bear's garlic, beaver, pheasant, and wild rabbit. Particular attention is drawn to the monumental natural monument – the "Oak of the Republic" with a circumference of 649 cm and a height of 33 m. The main towns within the park, Lidzbark Welski and Górzno, are well-known tourist and recreational centers, offering appropriate infrastructure and agritourism. The area also includes 7 nature reserves, such as the Brynica Gullies and the Płociczno Peat Bog, as well as proposed Natura 2000 sites. It is worth emphasizing that the local natural values are combined with the region's tradition and culture, making this park an attractive destination for tourists and nature enthusiasts. The park's headquarters is located in Ruda, where the Center for Ecological Education is situated.
