Pińczów County, located in the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship, was established in 1999 as part of the administrative reform. Its capital is the town of Pińczów, and the county borders several others, including Kielce and Miechów. This region lies in the Nida River valley and forms part of the Nida Basin macroregion, characterized by diverse landscapes, including the Pińczów Ridge and the Nida Valley mesoregions. The county covers an area of 613 km² and is protected within three landscape parks: the Kozubów Landscape Park, the Nida Basin Landscape Park, and the Szaniec Landscape Park. Pińczów County comprises the urban-rural municipalities of Działoszyce and Pińczów, as well as the rural municipalities of Kije, Michałów, and Złota. At the end of 2019, the population was 38,926, and by mid-2020, it had decreased to 38,691. The region boasts a rich historical heritage, evident in its numerous architectural landmarks, including churches and buildings from various eras. Pińczów is known for its palace and park complex, as well as its vibrant cultural traditions, such as local festivals, events, and unique customs preserved by the residents.
