Screams

Krzyki, formerly an independent district of Wrocław, was established on February 12, 1952, and its administrative functions were taken over by the Municipal Office of the Wrocław Commune in 1990. The area of this historic district spans 54.3 km² and, according to data from the Central Statistical Office (GUS) from 2019, is inhabited by 179,276 people. Krzyki, as a statistical unit, is still used by various administrative bodies and institutions, such as the tax office or the police. Within this district, there is a housing estate of the same name. In an architectural context, the modern Sky Tower stands out, which replaced Poltegor as the tallest building in Wrocław, along with the new Arkady Wrocławskie shopping center. It is also worth mentioning cultural facilities such as the Wrocław Aquapark, the Wrocław Mime Theater, the University of Economics, and the Academy of Theatre Arts, which enrich the cultural life of the district. Krzyki can also boast a rich history, evidenced by the Old Jewish Cemetery and the Water Tower. In the southern part of the district, there is the Partynice horse racing track, which is an attraction for equestrian enthusiasts. In terms of transportation, Krzyki is well-connected, with six tram loops and key streets such as Powstańców Śląskich and Ślężna, which link the district to the heart of Wrocław. It is also interesting to note that modern investments have been developed in Krzyki, aligning with the dynamic growth of Wrocław and making this district one of the city's important urban centers.
