wikipedia
The Bolimowski Landscape Park, established in 1986, is a picturesque area covering 20,512.32 hectares, located on the border of the Łódzkie and Mazowieckie voivodeships, within the Bolimowska Forest. The Rawka River, flowing through the park with its preserved natural meandering valley, serves as a vital ecological and natural feature. Forests, covering approximately 70% of the park's area, consist mainly of pine forests and diverse tree stands, including light oak forests. The rich flora, with over 900 plant species, includes rare vascular plants such as lily of the valley, bog plants, and numerous orchids. The park's fauna is equally fascinating, featuring moose, beavers, otters, and a rich variety of birds, including storks and rare species like the grey heron and crane. The park encompasses five nature reserves and areas protected under the Natura 2000 program. Historically, the region witnessed battles during World War I, and traces of trenches are still visible today. Surrounding the park are cultural heritage sites, such as the palace and park complex in Nieborów, the romantic park in Arkadia, Renaissance churches in Bolimów, and numerous war cemeteries. The park is also rich in architecture and history, with landmarks like the regional museum in Łowicz and the sanctuary in Miedniewice adding cultural value to the area. Additionally, the Forest Gallery of Sculpture and Painting by Jan Graczyk serves as an artistic highlight of the region. Thus, the Bolimowski Landscape Park is not only a unique ecosystem but also an area rich in history, culture, and architecture, attracting nature enthusiasts and tourists alike.
