wikipedia
The Ciśniańsko-Wetliński Landscape Park is a protected area located in the Western Bieszczady Mountains, serving as a buffer zone for the Bieszczady National Park on its western side. Established in 1992, the park covers an area of 51,461 hectares, with 83% of it forested, and is part of the International Biosphere Reserve "East Carpathians". The park features the highest peaks reaching nearly 1,200 meters above sea level, characterized by an altitudinal zonation of mountain vegetation and rich wildlife, including bears, wolves, lynxes, and wildcats. Within the park, there are important nature reserves such as Cisy na Górze Jawor and Gołoborze. This region was already a popular tourist destination in the 1930s, with guesthouses in Cisna and Jabłonki. During this period, hiking trails were marked, and the area was visited by summer vacationers and skiers. After World War II, the region became depopulated, but in the 1950s, tourists, including students, began rediscovering the Bieszczady, contributing to the development of tourism. Today, the park stands out for both its natural beauty and rich cultural heritage, attracting nature enthusiasts and history lovers alike.
