wikipedia
The Kunów Deanery, established on April 19, 2016, by Bishop Krzysztof Nitkiewicz, is one of the 25 deaneries in the Diocese of Sandomierz. It consists of nine parishes that previously belonged to the Szewna Deanery. These parishes include the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Boleszyn, Our Lady of Częstochowa in Chmielów, St. John the Baptist in Grzegorzowice, and St. Ladislaus in Kunów. The region is distinguished by its rich cultural and architectural heritage, with numerous historic churches that attract both the faithful and tourists. In particular, the Parish of Our Lady Mother of the Church and St. Stanislaus Kostka in Nagorzyce and the Parish of St. Francis of Assisi in Nietulisko Duże are known for their exceptional liturgical ceremonies and local religious traditions. In a historical context, the area of the deanery is linked to the development of Catholicism in Poland and local events that have influenced community life. An interesting fact is the presence of nearby deaneries, such as Sienno, Starachowice–Południe, Szewna, and Święty Krzyż, which highlights the religious and cultural diversity of the region. Contact between the deaneries fosters cooperation and joint initiatives, enriching the picture of local life in its abundance and diversity.
