Lidzbark Deanery

The Lidzbark Welski Deanery is one of the 24 deaneries within the Roman Catholic Diocese of Toruń. Its history dates back to the time when it belonged to the Diocese of Chełmno, based in Pelplin. Since March 25, 1992, the deanery has been part of the Diocese of Toruń, and its current structure was shaped by the reorganization of the diocesan framework in the early 2000s. The deanery comprises numerous parishes that serve as important centers of religious worship and social life for the local community. Architecturally, the parishes within the deanery are diverse, ranging from historic churches featuring Gothic and Baroque elements to more modern constructions. Local traditions and rituals, cherished by the residents, as well as cultural events held within the deanery, attract both the faithful and tourists.
