wikipedia
The Suchedniów-Oblęgór Landscape Park, located in the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship, encompasses the western part of the Suchedniów Plateau, the Kołomańskie Hills, and the Oblęgór Range, with its highest peak being Mount Siniewska (448.8 meters above sea level). Established to protect the unique natural and cultural resources of the region, which is part of the Old-Polish Industrial Basin, the park covers an area of 19,895 hectares. It serves as an important hydrographic area, acting as the source for the Krasna, Bobrza, and Kamionka rivers. The park's dominant feature is its rich forests, which cover 91% of its area, including unique stands of Polish larch and various protected vascular plants. The most valuable forest sections are preserved in nature reserves such as Świnia Góra, Dalejów, and Barania Góra. Natural monuments, including the famous Bartek Oak in Zagnańsk and the geological exposure of Tumlin sandstones in Ciosowa, also contribute to the park's natural value. From a cultural perspective, the park is rich in historical mining and metallurgy relics, such as the ruins of a blast furnace in Samsonów and the remains of industrial facilities in Bobrza. The region also features historic architectural sites, including the landscape and park complex in Oblęgorek, which houses a museum dedicated to Henryk Sienkiewicz. Overall, the park stands as a testament to both a rich history and a unique natural heritage, attracting numerous nature and history enthusiasts.
