Opoczyński County, located in the Łódź Voivodeship, was established in 1999 and has its seat in the town of Opoczno. With an area of 1,040.19 km², it constitutes 5.71% of the voivodeship's total area. At the end of 2019, the county had a population of 76,106, which decreased to 75,847 by 2020. Administratively, the county includes urban-rural municipalities such as Białaczów, Drzewica, Opoczno, and Żarnów, as well as rural municipalities: Mniszków, Paradyż, Poświętne, and Sławno.
