Przasnysz County

Przasnysz County is an administrative unit in the northern part of the Masovian Voivodeship, established in 1999 as part of the administrative reform. Its seat is the town of Przasnysz, and the county includes urban, urban-rural, and rural municipalities, such as Chorzele, Czernice Borowe, Jednorożec, Krasne, and Krzynowłoga Mała. According to 2020 data, the county was inhabited by 52,355 people. The history of the county dates back to the 16th century, when it was established in 1866 under the Provincial Administration Act of the Kingdom of Poland, and its area became part of the Płock Governorate. In the interwar period, Przasnysz County belonged to the Warsaw Voivodeship, and after World War II, the pre-war administrative division was restored, and local government was reorganized. Interestingly, the county was abolished in 1975 as a result of a reform and then reactivated in 1999.
